Woodbridge Antiques has dated this piece to the 1920s.
The solid silver pull off lid is handsomely decorated with a Greek Key pattern. The overall appearance is particularly attractive. The underneath of the lid has a gilt washed finish.

Clear hallmarks are visible on the lip of the silver lid for the London Assay Office with a date mark for 1928 and Lion Passant indicating the finest sterling silver. The maker's mark is worn but we have identified it from a matching piece to be Mappin & Webb.

A wonderful powder bowl, fabulous for a collector and in super condition.
