Antique Victorian Sterling Silver and Etched Glass Claret Jug

Description

An Antique Victorian Sterling silver and glass claret jug which has an etched glass body designed with birds, vines and fruit and resting on a round flat base. There is an ornate silver mount decorated with fruit and leaves, a good pouring spout with a Bacchus head motif and an equally ornate silver lid with an attractive finial on the top. The elaborate bark finished handle has also been designed with fruit, vines and leaves and completes the overall style of this wonderful silver claret jug. This claret jug would make an important addition to a collection, would look eye catching when displayed and would be perfect to use. It stands at 27.00 cms high, measures 14.50 cms from handle to spout and the diameter of the base is 13.20 cms. It will hold a full bottle of wine.

It was hallmarked in Sheffield for 1869 by Martin Hall & Co. and remains in excellent condition.

Complimentary postage is included within the price of this claret jug.
