Unusual Vintage Silver Owl Wax Seal with Engraved Galleon Ship

An unusual and very charming vintage solid silver Wax Seal for using with wax for letter or document seal. This silver seal is a handsome design in the form of an owl on a stand, where clear hallmarks are visible for the London Assay office with a date mark for 1967, Lion Passant and the maker's mark for the silversmith: Wakely & Wheeler. The engraving underneath for stamping on the wax is a wonderful, detailed galleon ship .

  

A lovely item and in great vintage condition, (some light surface scratching to silver stand commensurate with age and mentioned only for accuracy) super as a gift for a letter writer or a collector of stationery items.
