Wonderful Art Nouveau Solid Silver Table Potpourri Lavender Box 1907 Antique

Description

A wonderful Art Nouveau English antique solid silver potpourri box. It is hallmarked for London 1907 with the makers marks being those of William Comyns. It has been beautifully designed having an India influence having a pierced lid depicting a lady amongst scrolls. The sides have been decorated with stylised flowers. It would have been use to contain lavender or potpourri on a ladies desk or dressing table. It is in superb condition being free from dings splits holes and repairs. It measures approx. 4 inches (9.8cms) long by 1.5 inches (3.7cms) wide by 1 inch (2.6cms) tall and weighs 54 grams. A superbly made piece.
