Antique Tekke Turkmen rug, this size of rug is known as ‘dip khali’ which means 'half carpet'.
2nd half 19th century.
The rug is very well drawn with 3 rows of 9 Tekke guls, which are of a large rounded shape. The minor gul is of a classic Tekke design. The borders are of the sunburst design with many small filler elements.
Both ends also retain a short ivory panel embroidered with a repeating design.

The rug is in excellent condition with very slight even wear, and good pile. The wool is very soft and the rug has a floppy handle.
The rug has been hand washed and ready for use or display.
A collectable Tekke Turkmen rug of the highest order.
