Fine Early Victorian Solid Silver Hip Flask

Status: This item has been sold
Sold by: Prometheus Antiques

A fine quality and heavy gauge silver hip flask dating to the early Victorian period. The flask is of a good size with a base that forms a removable cup with a gilt interior. The flask is of typically plain form but does have a beautifully engraved crest for the Atkins family and the initials ''JA''. There are a full set of hallmarks for London 1845 and the makers mark is for Charles Rawlings and William Summers. The flask is in excellent usable condition and has a great patina. There are very minor knocks as would be expected. A fine and early example of a hip flask.
