English Sterling Silver Stilton Cheese Scoop Tate Family Crest 1890 Antique

Description

A superb heavy crested Victorian English sterling silver cheese scoop. It is hallmarked for Sheffield 1890 with the makers marks being JRM. It has been superbly designed having a Bead Pattern with engraved crest. The moto beneath the crest reads Thincke and Thancke which relates to the Tate family however the crest looks a little different the arm usually holds a pineapple although it must have a connection to them. It is in very good condition having no dings distortions or repairs - note there are scratches to the reverse. It measures almost 8 inches (19.8cms) long and weighs 90 grams. A very good quality piece.
