Sheffield 1909 Solid Silver Sauce Boat and Ladle by Very Good Makers Martin and Hall and Retailed by Rainforth and Son of Wales, Contained in the Original Fitted Case.

Description

Sheffield 1909 solid silver sauce boat and matching ladle made by famous makers Martin and Hall, and contained in the original cobalt blue velvet and satin lined fitted case. With retailers marks for Rainforth and Son of Newport and Bridgwater, Wales, goldsmiths and jewellers. The marks appear on both the silver and inside the case.

The sauce boat has lovely shaped edges a flying scroll handle, and a generous pouring lip. It stands on tripod feet. The ladle has a graceful gently curving stem, and good sized bowl.

It is unusual to get a sauceboat with its matching ladle, and with the original case.

Size-sauce boat is 5 5/8 inches long by 3 3/8 inches wide by 2 7/8 inches high. Ladle is 4 5/8 inches long.

Weight-125 grams. With case, weight for shipping is 460 grams.

This would make a lovely presentation for any occasion, or a treat for yourself. It will mix with any silver pattern, and look lovely on the table.

In very good condition.
