Antique Georgian 18th Century Solid Silver Swing Handle Bread Basket 1774

Description

A fine example of a Georgian solid silver bread or fruit basket. It has a swing handle and stands on an oval foot. The basket itself is beautifully shaped and has a pretty gadrooned border. The bottom of the basket is engraved with an armorial lion motif.

It is excellent quality and weighs approximately 970g.

It is clearly hallmarked for London, 1774 and the maker William Vincent.

The basket is in excellent condition for its age. There are a few minor interior surface marks and very light surface scratches but no major damages and it displays beautifully. It has been gently cleaned and polished and is ready for use.
