S & A Marsh has dated this piece to the Edwardian era.
The mechanism that facilitates this action is still in perfect working order and it is unusual to find this feature on such a large object. It would look stylish when displayed on the table, would be practical to use and would look appealing when filled with chocolates as well as biscuits. The barrel stands at 21.00 cms high from the base to the top of the handle.
It was hallmarked in Birmingham for 1909 by Hukin and Heath and remains in excellent condition.
Free postage is offered within the price of this silver and glass biscuit barrel.
