Single Large Milk Glass and Gilt Table Lamp

1900 - 1920
Description

Decorative and large milk glass column and reverse painted table lamp on a lovely original gilded turned base, circa 1920.

Up at the top of the lamp, under the bulb fitting, there is a glass sphere with remnants of a gilt finish which has worn away beautifully. You then have the milk glass column on a turned gilded collar, a further glass column with naive reverse painting and a further gilt turned collar.

Fabulous lamp and showing some good honest age, newly re wired with a linen braided cord.

Measuring:

35 1/2 inches or 90 cm to the top of the example shade ( not included )

24 inches or 61 cm to the bulb holder

6 inches or 15 cm diameter base
