Quality rare Georgian English solid silver sugar tongs. They are hallmarked with the lion passant and the makers marks being of Hester Bateman and date to c1770-1780. They have been beautifully designed having an unusual bright cut design and have been engraved with initials RCF or CRF. They are in superb condition being free from dings splits distortions and repairs. They measure approx. 5.25 inches (13.5cms) long by 2.5 inches (6.3cms) across the grips and weigh 30 grams. More unusual examples.
