A stunning rare cased English solid sterling silver orange peeler. It is hallmarked for Birmingham 1871 with the makers marks being HW. It is also marked Wilkinson's Patent. It suspect it was for peeling oranges, when they were an expensive luxury, as I have seen similar ones by Wilkinson's but never this example. It is in superb condition being free from dings splits chips cracks distortions and repairs. The outer case has scuff. The peeler measures approx. 6.25 inches (15.6cms) long by 1 inches (2.5cms) wide and weighs 22 grams. A superb very rare thing.
