Rare Georgian English Solid Sterling & Horn Silver Magnifying Glass C1800

Description

A rare high quality English solid sterling silver mounted magnifying glass. It is unmarked but tests as sterling silver and dates to c1800. The body has been made from pressed horn. It is in superb condition the silver being free from dings splits and repairs. The body is free from chips cracks and repairs as is the glass - it still magnifies. It measures 1.5 inches (3.8cms) wide, 3.25 inches (8cms) fully extended and weighs 18 grams. A rare and unusual example.
