Unusual Victorian Silver Stamp Holder

This is a wonderful and rare item; a Victorian solid silver stamp holder, clearly hallmarked on one side Birmingham 1898 and with the marker’s marks: James Deakin & Sons. The holder has one compartment to hold the stamps. The base is a half oval shape and a nice plain polished silver. The lid shows an original Penny stamp exposed through a clear cover, with a silver frame surrounding. Underneath the lid the original burgundy coloured leather cover is exposed. The compartment inside has a gilt wash finish. Four neat ball feet complete the item.

 

Great for a collector of stamp cases or Philatelist!
