Woodbridge Antiques has dated this piece to the Victorian era.
Light engraving on the body is exquisite. There is an initial 'S' in the centre on one side of the Pepperette and a vacant cartouche on the other side. Hallmarks are visible on one side for the London Assay Office with a date mark 1839, Lion Passant and silver maker's mark: Charles Fox.

A truly wonderful item, in lovely antique collector's condition. Lovely as a gift for a wedding or any occasion!
