Silver & Guilloche Enamel Compact Birm' 1927

A stunning guilloche enamel silver Compact.

 

This compact is circular in shape and is enamelled in the most beautiful bright yellow colour, applied in the very decorative and precise guilloche technique that produces an almost two-tone effect!

 

The silver compact has a hinged lid, which when opened reveals a mirror under the lid (in very good condition - some very slight marking around the edges) and a pale gilt wash to the base. (This wash is slightly scratched commensurate with age and use.)

 

Hallmarks are visible on the base for the Birmingham Assay Office with a date mark for 1927 and Lion Passant indicating the finest sterling silver, the maker's mark is also clear: Crisford & Norrris Ltd. (Partial marks are also visible on the lid.

 

Condition: The enamel to the lid is in great condition as is the silver. (Any minor imperfections are mentioned above.)
