Rare Solid Sterling Silver Enamel Vesta Case Shipping Yachting Flag Elsie 1900

Description

A very interesting rare English Victorian solid sterling silver vesta case. It is hallmarked for Birmingham 1900 with the makers mark being B&S. It has been superbly designed having a push button mechanism and an enamel fag to its front - it has also been engraved Elsie 1900, I suspect this may be the name of a steam ship or yacht. It is in superb condition being free from dings splits and repairs, the enamel is free from chips cracks and repairs, the mechanism works well. It measures almost 2 inches (5cms) tall by over 1.25 inches (3.5cms) wide and weighs 38 grams. A very high quality rare example.
