Description

A rare English solid sterling silver vinaigrette. It is hallmarked for Birmingham c1830,s (difficult to read) with the maker’s marks being GW for Gervase Wheeler. It has been beautifully designed and can be worn around the neck having a silver chain attached, not sure it the chain is original but its certainly pretty old. Interestingly it still retains its sponge. The inside has been gilded. It is in super condition being free from dings splits distortions and repairs. The hinge is smooth and tight. It measures approx. 1.25 inches (3cms) long by 0.75 inch (2cms) wide by 0.25 inch (1.7cms) tall and weighs 22 grams. A very high quality example.
