A beautiful heavy Scottish provincial solid sterling silver Arts and Crafts mug or cup. It is hallmarked STERLING SS for Shetland Silver established in the early 1950's - I would date this piece to around that time, 1950's. It has been superbly designed being hand planished. It is in super condition being free from dings splits and repairs. It measures approx. 3.25 inches (8.5cms) tall by 3.75 inches (9.5cms) across including the handle and 2.5 inches (6.5cms) excluding it by over 2 inches (5.4cms) across the base and weighs an impressive 130 grams. A beautifully made more very unusual piece.
