Rare German 800 Solid Silver Trinket Table Playing Card Box C1910 Antique 120g

1900 - 1920
Description

A beautiful solid silver table box. It is hallmarked with the German crescent moon and crown mark along with the 800 standard mark and the makers mark of Gustav Hauber who operated from 1870. I would date this piece to c1910. It has been beautifully designed being rectangular in form with a rope edge. The inside has been gilded. It most likely once contained a miniature pack of playing cars? It is in superb condition being free from dings splits holes and repairs. The lid clicks shut. It measures approx. 2.75 inches (6.7cms) tall by 2 inches (5cms) front to back by 1.25 inches (3.6cms) wide and weighs 120 grams. A high quality piece.
