Victorian Octagonal Silver Sugar Bowl

A very stylish, late Victorian Sugar Bowl. The design of the bowl looks early art deco (although it pre dates the Deco period). It is a plain polished silver in the form of an octagon with a matching octagonal foot. Nice proportions and lovely and solid. Clear hallmarks are visible on one side for the London Assay Office with a date mark for 1900 and Lion Passant indicating the finest sterling silver. The maker's mark is also clear: Aldwinkle & Slater.
