A Superb Edwardian Silver Mounted Glug Glug Decanter

A superb silver mounted decanter from the elegant Edwardian era. This imposing example is fitted with a hallmarked silver collar and four point pouring spout. The body is shaped and us cut in strawberry diamonds and fringes, with cut flutes to the bottom rim. The decanter is finished with the original matching cut stopper and a multi point star is cut to the base. The pinched design was popular both here and in Scandinavia and the nickname 'glug glug' comes from the sound of pouring, caused by the design shape. It is an attractive and usable piece of antique glassware. Dimensions below.
