S & A Marsh has dated this piece to the Victorian era.
The interiors of the cream jug and sugar basin have been nicely gilded and there are pretty flower finials on top of the hinged lids of the coffee pot and teapot. The handles of the coffee pot and teapot have also been finished to a high standard with attractive detailing in keeping with the overall design of the set. This wonderful tea set would be practical to use and would look eye catching when displayed on the table. The height of the coffee pot is 22.50 cms, the height of the teapot is 16.30 cms, the height of the cream jug is 15.50 cms and the height of the sugar basin is 13.50 cms.

This tea set was hallmarked in London for 1839 by John Wellby and remains in excellent condition. The total weight is 83.50 troy ounces (2597 grams).
