A Rare Georgian Silver 'Anchovie' Sauce Label

A desirable and rather rare Georgian silver 'Anchovie' condiment Label. This wonderful piece is rectangular in shape, with 'clipped' corners and the word 'Anchovie' (note unusual spelling) is engraved to the centre. The border is reeded and the label is supported on a belcher chain. Condiments came in many forms in the Georgian times, including items such as Anchovy sauce - more usually found as a cooking ingredient nowadays.
