Rare Regency /Empire period brass adjustable chamberstick, probably French, circa 1830
The candle can be elevated to raise the illumination point and make up for candle burn down.
Lathe finished cast brass with engine engraved decoration, the base finger ring formed as a French horn, can also be carried by the top pillar ring.
All in very good sound condition ready to display and use, no wobbles or slackness, good friction fit on the slide mechanism.
Not recently cleaned or polished.
Height 16,3/4'' or 425mm, gross weight 785grams.
