Antique Victorian Sterling Silver & Tortoiseshell Letter Knife 1856

Description

This is a lovely antique Victorian letter opener with a tortoiseshell handle inlaid with silver pique and with a sterling silver blade.

The blade is in very good condition with no damage and is hallmarked for Birmingham 1856 with the silversmiths mark for John Gilbert.

The handle is also in great condition with super decoration and the whole item measures 8 1/4" (21 cms) long and is ready to use.
