Fine Victorian Heavy Gauge Silver Toast Rack

Description

What can only be described as a superb solid silver Toast Rack. Lovely proportions and a good heavy gauge of silver, it does not feel flimsy when picked up and stands on four sturdy ball feet. It has a nice circular handle at the top and four compartments. Very clear crisp hallmarks are visible on the rectangular base of the rack for the Sheffield Assay Office with a date mark for 1899 and Lion Passant indicating sterling silver along with the silver maker's mark: Fordham & Faulkner.

 

Condition: In lovely condition.

 

Hallmarks: Sheffield 1899 by Fordham & Faulkner.

 

Measurements: Height: 10.6 cm Width: 8.8 cm Depth: 6.4 cm

Weight: 102 grams
