Comments: This beautiful square shape medal, from the Art Nouveau period, is made in 18kt yellow gold with Plique à jour navy blue and green enamel. It features the profile a young saint looking to the left. The corners are nicely adorned with pearls. We can see the signature Monier on the bottom right. Emile Monier (1874-1950) was a French sculptor and medallist, who exhibited at the Salon des Artistes Français. He received the Médaille d’Honneur in 1948. The enamel is in very good condition. The back is engraved with the name Françoise and the date 26 Juillet 1924.
