An unusual silver mounted horn beaker of Scottish Provincial origin. This attractive piece is gently tapering in shape and has a silver mounted rim and applied shield to the front. It appears to have been given as a prize to T. T Smith in 1927, with an engraving around the rim 'Kirkwall Bowling Club Rink Competition'. Kirkwall is in Orkney and the makers were based in Aberdeen, with Assay entries for both Edinburgh and Chester. Dimensions below.

Hallmarks :- Maker's mark, S, one distorted mark.

Height :- 12.7 cms.
Diameter of base :- 4.7 cms.
