Antique Victorian Silver 'Plumb Bob' Propelling Pencil 1873 - Punchestown

Description

This is a rare antique Victorian sterling silver propelling pencil in the style of a plumb bob measuring 3 1/2" (9 cms) when open and 2" (5 cms) closed.

It's stamped with the diamond registration mark for 7th September 1873 and the makers mark 'Thornhill no.90' - it's also marked 'Punchestown 1880' so was probably a souvenir from a day at the horse racing.

It's in super condition with no damage and it weighs 22.6 grams/0.7 troy oz.
