French Niello Silver Snuffbox

Description

An exquisite and rare 19th century French niello silver snuffbox depicting figures walking their dogs and what looks to be in light conversation. Scrolling to the background depicting birds , animals, butterflies and foliage . To the sides of the box there are scenes of farmers ploughing, cottages and a chateaux with a flag flying . On the opposite side a man hunting with his gun . Gilded inside , silver stamped and to the side of the lid there are also French marks . Geometric design to the base .

In very good condition for its age .
