Elegant Silver Sauce Boat London 1914

1900 - 1920
Description

A most elegantly designed solid silver sauce boat. Wonderfully shaped with a lovely scalloped edge and no engraving or embossing to the silver body. It has a nicely shaped handle and sits on the three sturdy hoof feet. On one side next to the handle are the clear and crisp hallmarks for the London Assay office with a date mark for 1914 and Lion Passant indicating fine sterling silver. The silver maker's mark is also very clear: R&W Sorley.

 

Condition: This sauce boat is in great antique condition. There are no visible dents or dings to the highly polished silver.

  

Hallmarks: London 1914 by R&W Sorley

 

Measurements:

 

Height: (To top of handle): 7.4 cm approx.

Width: 15.5 cm approx.

Depth: 8.8 cm approx.

Weight: 94 grams approx.
