Two large early 20th century African Benin tribal bronze statues, c 1920. Depicting standing warriors carrying swords both are heavy and cast well in the traditional lost wax method. Not quite a true pair they are similar in terms of size, age and subject matter. They have the usual casting holes etc you get with older examples , but overall condition is good with only minor wear and rubbing. There is surface oxidation/ verdigris /rust to the metal, but exactly as you would expect from older examples. They have aged well with good colour/patina.
