Large Antique English Silver Plated Biscuit / Cookie Box by Atkin Brothers C. 1880

Description

A really splendid and grand biscuit box on it's integral pieced tray to the bottom which stands on four very smart ball & claw feet.

The box is beautifully decorated with foliate swags around the centre and at the front a large vacant cartouche allowing a good space for engraved personalization if desired. The lid again with highly decorative engraving and a Pineapple finial to the top.

Made from silver plate, the underside is clearly hallmarked for the highly sought-after Atkin Brothers of Sheffield.

Superb condition and measuring an impressive 9" tall to top of finial and the tray having a diameter of 8".
