How lovely to find a pair of survivors like this! A solid sterling silver teapot with its matching stand, dating from the reign of George III.
The wonderfully decorated bright cut teapot is clearly hallmarked on the base for London 1807, with the maker''s mark for Duncan Urquhart & Naphtali Hart. The teapot stand has matching hallmarks.
There is a simple Greek key decoration around the top of the teapot, above a further circlet of bright cut flowers. The tasteful decorations extend up the handle and also around the spout. There are two oval cartouches on the teapot and a matching one on the stand, all of which are vacant. The teapot itself has a slight wobble and the odd ding, but nothing too serious and nothing to detract from what is a very attractive item.
