This is an Edwardian Art Nouveau hallmarked sterling silver photograph frame. It was assayed in Chester in 1909, and was made by J & R Griffin (Joseph & Richard Griffin). The frame is repoussage decorated with a vacant cartouche and stylised irises with a beaded edge.The interior of the frame is 19.8cm high by 14.8cm wide, fitting an 8 by 6 inch photograph.The silver frame does have a number of dents, particularly to the beaded edges and raised areas such as the cartouche at the top and the flowers. There is a small piece of silver missing to the top left corner. The back of the frame is quite worn and faded, with the easel stand having been replaced.All items come with free shipping throughout the UK.
