William IV Silver Teapot 1834

19th century
Description

This is a lovely solid sterling silver teapot, dating from the short reign of William IV.

It has wonderfully clear hallmarks on the base for London 1834, with the maker's mark of Richard William Atkins & William Nathaniel Somersall.

The body is plain with an elaborate sunflower finial. The only areas carrying any decoration are the handle, where a large moulded leaf forms the thumb piece, and the feet, beautifully crisp. There are some slight knocks around the angular rim and a couple of small dings and marks to the body, but nothing that will detract from the overall appearance of this stylish piece.

Dimensions:

Silver weight: 644g

Length: 27cm

Height: 16cm

Depth: 16cm

Post and packaging are free within the UK. Overseas buyers please e-mail for postage costs and please note: Import duties, taxes, and charges are not included in the item price or shipping cost. These charges are the buyer's responsibility. Please check with your country's customs office to determine what these additional costs will be prior to bidding or buying.
