Matching George V Sterling Silver Pepperette & Mustard

1900 - 1920
Description

This is a matching George V hallmarked sterling silver pepperette and mustard. They were assayed in Birmingham in 1911, and made by Horace Woodward & Co Ltd. The mustard has an Edwardian hallmarked sterling silver cruet spoon assayed in London in 1902, made by Josiah Williams & Co (George Maudsley Jackson & David Landsborough Fullerton)

The pepperette has a wrythen finial, a gadrooned lid, a waisted neck, and a half gadrooned body. The mustard has a wrythen finial, a fluted handle and a half gadrooned body.

The finial of the pepperette has been knocked, pushing it to one side and slightly denting the lid. There are some dents around the waist of the pepperette. The mustard is missing its glass liner, and the hinge is slightly loose. Both have some wear to the hallmarks. Otherwise they are in good general order with wear and tear commensurate to their age.

The pepperette is 9.2cm high, 5.4cm wide and 4.3cm deep

The mustard is 5.3cm high x 8.8cm wide and 4.8cm deep

Total weight 105g / 3.38 oz t

Archival Detail
Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.
