Handsome English Victorian Cut Crystal & Silverplate Biscuit Box / Barrel

Description

A stunning piece of cut crystal was used to create the barrel portion of this box in caddy. The top of the glass is mounted with a silver plated rim engraved with a typically Victorian Ferns design. The lid is also decorated with engraved Ivy.

The glass sits perfectly into the carrying caddy with it's folding handle and standing on four substantial feet. The base is also engraved with a continuous Ivy garland to compliment the lid. The underside of the caddy is where the marks can be found for Cooper Brothers and EP for Electo-Plated.

All in exceptional condition measuring 9 1/2" tall to top of handle and 7" across the base of the caddy. Victorian in era, c.1880.
