Pair Of Lidded Ormolu And Silvered Urns

A fine quality pair of lidded urns , mounted on marble and ormolu base . Circa 1880 , by the Parisian sculptor and bronze founder Victor Paillard (1805-1886) . Beautifully sculpted depicting dancing cherubs with fruit and foliage adorned. Different scenes to either sides of the urns . The handles are also draped with grapes and leaves . On the lids there are wheat sheaths, flowers and leaves. The handle of the lid , has ą sculptured silvered bronze pelican with a snail to his feet .
 
Stamped with makers initials VP and a crown .
