A Superb Victorian Sweetmeat Basket

A superb example of a late Victorian sweetmeat basket in hallmarked silver. This striking piece has a raised pedestal base in oval shape. The body is boat shaped with a richly gilded interior and a swing handle. The engraved armorial to the front, bears the motto 'Faithful and True' and both the handle and the body are hallmarked. A lovely example, both practical and decorative. Dimensions below.
