Unusual Sterling Silver and Guilloche Enamel Letter Opener - 1911

Description

A stunning addition to the most stylish of desk-tops, using this handsome example will make the daily chore of opening the mail, an absolute joy.

Made from solid or sterling silver the blade has a nice clear English hallmark for Sheffield 1911. The front panel of the handle is decorated with a stunning rich rusty red guilloche enamel enhancing the decorative engine turning below. There is a black enamel panel in an art deco design, with a surrounding engraved silver line decoration.

Wonderful condition, measuring 9 7/8" in length.
