A Superb Edwardian Silver Pot Pouree Box

A gorgeous Edwardian silver pot pouree box. This lovely piece is of diamond shape with a pierced lid and is of superior gauge silver. The inside is fully gilded and the piercing forms a network of connected flowers with a central figure. Small pieces like this were used to scent cupboards or chests of drawers and were filled with violets, rose or other fragrant petals. They were also component parts of large travelling toiletry sets and are not often found. A good collector's piece, both decorative and practical. Dimensions below.
