George III sterling silver baluster shape Christening mug.
 
Hallmarked London, 1766 makers mark W.T for William Tuite
 
This beautifully proportioned heavy gauge silver mug with hand raised body,
 
stands on a pedestal base with an impressive opposing scroll handle,
 
leaf decorated thumbpiece and bifurcating scrolling lower terminal .
 
Full set of good clear hallmarks to the base.
 
The handle inscribed T E*M, the body not inscribed or de inscribed.
 
Height 4,7/8'' or 124mm, weight 12 troy ounces or 373 grams
 
Capacity just over three quarters of a pint.
 
All in excellent condition with no damage or repair.
