1904 Mordan Silver Pen Nib Wipe Boot Brush Scraper Sterling Hallmarked

Charming, Edwardian, silver dip pen nib wiper in the form of a miniature country house boot scraper.
 
Presumably made for people that would prefer walking in nature and fresh air to desk work!
 
A large, heavy example the lead loaded base with original leatherette lining.
 
Hallmarked Chester 1904, makers mark S.M&CoLd for Sampson Mordan & Co. Ltd.
 
High quality model, as would be expected from this renowned firm, with pivoting cast bale handles to the sides.
 
Original finely bristled wooden based brushes,still strong and sound.
 
Some minor wear to the original base covering, small patches where the deep green surface finish has rubbed and one little leatherette corner missing.
 
In excellent condition with no damage or repair,
