A Good and Large-sized Victorian Embroidered Mahogany Footstool

Description

A good and large Victorian mahogany footstool with a nicely embroidered velvet-cushioned top.

The attractively carved solid mahogany frame features beading, scrolling and central highlights to front rear and side aspects. With scroll feet and original brass castors. It is sound with little, if any, movement in the joints. The cushioned top/seat is made of mulberry coloured velvet with two embroidered panels, featuring rosettes and geometric designs.

This footstool would work well 'as is' or it would make a nice project for somebody looking to refine it further.

Dated:  c.1850-70
