Nathaniel Mills Silver Vinaigrette Hallmarked Birmingham 1825

A superb silver vinaigrette. William IV and fully hallmarked on the inside for the Birmingham Assay Office with a date mark of 1825 and maker's mark: Nathaniel Mills. There are also part hallmarks on the inside lid. The lid bears a pretty design surrounding an empty oblong cartouche in the centre. Underneath on the base there is a lovely engraved flower. Inside the vinaigrette has been gilded. The grill is a very attractive foliate pierced design with a swirling pattern. The hinge to the grill works well and the lid closes perfectly.

 

This is a beautiful item - ideal for a collector of vinaigrettes.

 

Condition: In great antique collector's condition (there is a some very tiny dents to the base, which are commensurate with the age of the item and we mention for accuracy only - they do not detract in any from the beauty of this item).
