Antique Arts and Craft Silver Quaiche

1900 - 1920
Description

This is a striking example of a solid sterling silver quaiche or quaich (whisky taster).

It is clearly hallmarked on the base for Birmingham 1922 with the maker's mark of AE Jones. It is a planished, or hand-hammered, finish with a series of indented circles around the rim. The bowl is shallow, the handles wide. The silver is in excellent condition, with slight surface abrasions that would be expected of an item almost 100 years old. The base wobbles.

Dimensions:

Width: 20cm

Depth: 13cm

Height: 4cm

Weight: 120g.

Post and packaging are free within the UK. Overseas buyers please e-mail for postage costs. Thank you.

Payment can be made via PayPal, bank transfer or cheque. A PayPal account is not needed - payment by credit or debit card can be made by pressing the ‘pay now’ button on the item page.

Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.
