George V Hallmarked Silver Miniature Photograph Frame

1900 - 1920
Description

This is a George V hallmarked sterling silver miniature photograph frame. It was assayed in Birmingham in 1919. It was made by Sanders & Mackenzie (Ernest Wilfred Sanders & Henry Arthur Mackenzie) of Spencer Street, Birmingham. It has an oak backing and an oak easel stand on a hinge.

Unfortunately there is only one piece of metal on the back of the frame to keep the backing on. Usually there will be a piece of metal that swivels around on a pin to keep the back closed but this is missing. The hallmarks are a little bit worn but it is otherwise in reasonable condition with wear commensurate with age.
